The research of Prof Jiang’s group has been centred on Thermofluid Modelling/Simulation for Sustainable Energy Utilisation. His on-going research activities include the applications of modelling and simulation to the following research areas: (1) combustion utilisation of “alternative” and “renewable” fuels including chemical kinetics studies, (2) greenhouse gas mitigation technologies including combustion mitigation of low-concentration methane; (3) flow in porous media and geological carbon storage, and (4) battery thermal management and thermal management in computer systems. He is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of a few EPSRC projects, as well as the Co-Investigator of “UK Turbulence Consortium”. He is also the PI of a European Commission H2020 project “HPC4E (High Performance Computing for Energy)”. His research has been funded by EPSRC, EU, Royal Society and the industry.
