Research Overview

Paul's research interests are primarily focused on low carbon gaseous energy supply chains. His research sits at the intersection between process engineering simulation, whole energy systems modelling and environmental life cycle assessment. He is developing unique tools to assess the environmental credentials of current and future energy supply chains, including hydrogen, ammonia and methane. Research includes developing probabilistic and multi-parametric environmental assessments of whole supply chains with spatial resolution.

Paul's research includes collaboration with industry as well as policy makers and seeks to provide recommendations into cost-effective pathways to decarbonise whilst avoiding other unintended consequences (e.g. degradation of other environmental systems).
