Previous Funded Research Projects
Designing an aerial methane measurement strategy to meet OGMP2.0 level 5Funding source: BP Exploration Operating Company LimitedStart: 21-02-2022 / End: 20-11-2022 Methane emissions are still poorly understood and we need more measurements to determine the most effective emissions mitigation pathways. We are conducting research to develop an industry-wide strategy to reconcile increased top-down (e.g. facility level) measurements with bottom-up (source level) measurements. |
LNG Transport: Measuring And Minimising Methane EmissionsFunding source: The Collaboratory to Advance Methane Science (CAMS); and Enagas SAStart: 02-11-2020 / End: 31-12-2021 This is a first-of-a-kind project to measure total methane emissions from an LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier ship. The research will help determine effective measurement methodologies for shipping methane emissions, and provide the first data point in understanding how much to ships contribute to natural gas supply chain emissions. |
