Expertise: Salim specialises in transnational education and enhancing the student experience through active and research-led learning. His interests include real-life applications, neurodiversity, internationalisation, and cultural awareness. As a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and advocate of the CDIO framework, he is committed to educational innovation. A Chartered Engineer with expertise in CFD, Urban Fluid Dynamics, and Large Eddy Simulation, with experience supervising research & PhD projects. Globally recognised for delivering guest talks, he enjoys networking and exploring collaborations that foster global citizenship and mobility. These efforts align with his passion for educational research and leadership.

Brief Biography

Salim is an accomplished professional in international higher education, recognised for establishing and steering institutional partnerships, program development, and global engagement initiatives. With diverse experience from roles at Taylor's and Heriot-Watt Universities in Malaysia, and the University of Dundee and Swansea University in the UK, Salim has led transnational education projects, taught internationally, and fostered successful collaborations with global partners.

A passionate advocate of the CDIO pedagogical framework, Salim integrates research-led teaching and encourages students to present at international conferences. Salim's contributions include over 60 publications, a Google Scholar citation of 1900, an h-index of 14, and an i10-index of 17.

Since securing a SFHEA in 2021, Salim has actively engaged in educational research, presented at international educational conferences, and initiated collaborations with institutions like KTH Sweden, KU Leuven, and Nottingham Trent University. Salim's dedication to educational leadership aims to enhance global citizenship and mobility for both students and staff.
