His engineering research expertise includes Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), supported by over 60 publications. Brief Biography
Dr Salim M Salim CEng MIMechE SFHEA is an accomplished professional in international higher education. He is recognised for his leadership in institutional partnerships, programme development, transnational education (TNE), and global engagement initiatives.
With extensive experience across Taylor's University and Heriot-Watt University in Malaysia, and the Universities of Dundee and Swansea in the UK, Salim has led international education projects, developed global academic partnerships, and delivered teaching across diverse international contexts. His work brings together academic leadership, international collaboration, and industry engagement to enhance educational opportunities and student experience.
A passionate advocate of the CDIO (Conceiveâ??Designâ??Implementâ??Operate) pedagogical framework, Salim champions active, research-led and industry-integrated learning, encouraging students to engage in research and present their work at international conferences. His engineering research has generated over 60 publications, over 2,300 Google Scholar citations, an h-index of 16, and an i10-index of 20.
Since becoming a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA) in 2021, Salim has actively contributed to educational research, presented at international education conferences, and developed collaborations with institutions including KTH Royal Institute of Technology, KU Leuven, and Nottingham Trent University. He holds a Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship from Corndel and Imperial College London, completed with Distinction.
His leadership is driven by a commitment to educational innovation, global citizenship, and expanding opportunities for international mobility and collaboration for students and staff.
