| Expertise: | Kamal's expertise lies in analysing and predicting how advanced and engineered materials behave, degrade, and fail under mechanical loading. I work on polymers, rubber, composites, lattice materials, and nano structures, combining theory, computer simulations, and experiments. My research supports the design of high-performance and sustainable materials, helping industry improve durability, safety, and environmental impact. Applications include green tyres, lightweight structures, composite structures, surface engineering, and next-generation materials for transport and energy systems. |
Brief Biography
S. Kamal Jalali is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS) at Queen Mary University of London. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran. Prior to his current role, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Trento, Italy.
Kamal's work combines analytical modelling, numerical simulations, and experimental approaches to study the mechanical behaviour of advanced materials and structures. He has extensive experience in industry-linked research projects and international collaborations.
