Brief Biography
Dr Neil Cagney studied Mechanical Engineering in Trinity College Dublin, before completing a PhD in University College London with Prof. Stavroula Balabani in 2013, experimentally examining the vortex-induced vibration of structures. Following this, Dr Cagney worked in a variety of areas, including processing of biofuel products, thermal convection, processing of complex fluids and mixing, before joining Queen Mary in 2019. His current interests include flow-induced vibration, small-scale energy harvesting and instabilities in complex fluids.
