Mechanical Workshop

Located within the east block of the School of Engineering and Materials Science is the Mechanical Workshop. Here students and academics can seek out advice and guidance on how to design and manufacture parts for projects and research work, and then have their components produced by a trained technician. The workshop boasts a wide variety of different manual and computer numerical control (CNC) machines, as well as MIG and TIG welding, brazing, tooling for sheet metal work, wood working and FDM 3D printing.

For general enquires, please email douglas.thomson@qmul.ac.uk , telephone 020 7882 6383 or come and speak to a technician face to face in room G54.

Under the mechanical department umbrella you will also find The Makerspace and the Whitehead Aeronautical Laboratory.
