In year 11, I decided to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering, which seemed much more interesting and appealing than learning about Macbeth or the Cold War. After doing hours of research, I found what the entry requirements and subject requirements were, so I was determined to do well and study hard. During my free time periods, I had a look at different universities across London that facilitate aerospace engineering and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) stood out a lot due to its history, and its aims as an establishment. I felt very confident and satisfied with the range of technology and facilities QMUL could provide for students and not only that it was a great university, but that it was classed as a Russell Group uni, which is also known worldwide.

After all the anticipation of exams and results day I managed to secure a place at QMUL and could embark on great opportunities within the university.

QMUL has a wide range of societies, and I was thrilled to spend more time on campus and meet more people. QMUL is such a diverse university which has allowed me to meet new people from different backgrounds and learn to embrace their cultures alongside my culture. I feel valued and welcomed within the community of QMUL and I’m able to express my views easily, as QMUL provides us with questionnaires and satisfaction ratings at the end of each module.

The new and refurbished labs at QMUL make me want to try out new things such as woodwork or just experimenting with the different equipment that is widely available to use.

I am planning to stay within the aerospace engineering field as I’m captivated by the innovation and creativity within aircrafts, and how they could look in the future. I am determined to make a change and move forward with advances in technology, taking nature and the sustainability into consideration.
