On 21st November QMUL hosted an event to celebrate the staff who have been promoted in the most recent academic promotion rounds. As we reported back in September, this was a very successful outcome for SEMS with 12 of our colleagues being promoted across all the different academic grades, reflecting the calibre of our team and the high regard in which SEMS is held by the rest of the QMUL community.

Our five new Professors are Prof Ana Sobrido, Prof Gabriel Cavalli, Prof Joe Briscoe, Prof Karin Hing and Prof Thomas Iskratsch. Our three new Readers are Dr Caroline Roney, Dr Folashade Akinmolayan and Dr Olly Fenwick. Our four new Senior Lecturers are Dr Dimitrios Papageorgiou, Dr Ketao Zhang, Dr Paddy Cullen and Dr Tom Macdonald.

At the event, the Principal, Prof Colin Bailey, praised the entire QMUL community for their hard work in making QMUL the number one institution in the world with our mix of research and education excellence and enhancing social mobility for our students. Congratulations once again to the entire team.
