Celebrating excellence: student prize winners at the Industrial Liaison Forum
11 November 2025

The School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS) proudly celebrated the achievements of its outstanding students at this year’s Industrial Liaison Forum (ILF) Prize-Giving Ceremony — one of the highlights of the academic calendar.
The School extends its sincere gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support, which makes these prizes possible. Their continued partnership enables SEMS to recognise excellence and to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists to reach new heights.
This year’s Industrial Liaison Forum brought together staff, students, industry partners, and guests to celebrate a remarkable group of students who received a range of prestigious awards across multiple categories. The prizes highlight exceptional academic performance, innovative research, and outstanding project work — achievements that reflect both technical skill and creative thinking at the heart of SEMS.
The awards presented include:
- Overall Academic Achievement Awards – recognising students with outstanding performance across all aspects of their studies.
- Best in Year Awards – celebrating the top students in each year group across all programmes.
- Best First Prize by Programme – honouring the highest-achieving student within each degree programme.
- Project Achievement Awards – recognising exceptional excellence in individual or group project work.
- MSc Achievement Awards – celebrating students who have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence and research performance in their postgraduate studies.
Behind every success story lies the encouragement and support of families, friends, and supervisors. SEMS warmly congratulates not only the prize-winning students but also the people who have inspired and guided them throughout their journeys.
This year’s winners have shown exemplary commitment, creativity, and resilience — qualities that reflect the very best of our School community. Their achievements stand as a testament to what can be accomplished through passion, hard work, and collaboration.
To all our awardees — congratulations! You are the future innovators, researchers, and leaders of tomorrow, and we are immensely proud to celebrate your success.
