SEMS technology showcased at the Advanced Materials Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
14 July 2025

SEMS technology was exhibited again at the Advanced Materials Show at the NEC in Birmingham. This trade fair, which takes place alongside the Advanced Ceramics Show, the Vehicle Electrification Expo and the Battery Cells & Systems Expo features over 300 exhibitors along with 100 speakers, and attracts more than 4000 visitors.
Our stand had objects on display showcasing our battery technology, AI-designed cellular structures, and bone graft substitute materials developed by SEMS, all of which attracted many new industry contacts who we hope to work with closely in the future.
SEMS spin-out, Ultima Forma, joined us on the stand. Ultima Forma Ltd was spun-out of pioneering work by Professor Andy Bushby into the micromechanics of materials. Today, their automated electroforming equipment and application technology delivers lightweight, complex parts with functionally graded properties – helping drive innovation across the aerospace, energy, and defence sectors.
