Zotefoams, a FTSE listed manufacturer of polymer foams based in Croydon, hosted two delegations of students from SEMS during SKEMP week. The technical support manager, Dr Leena-Marie Wilson explained the process to make closed cell foamed polymer materials for a diverse range of applications including: lightweighting in transportation, impact protection, packaging and sports goods.

The students were shown all the different parts of the extrusion and foaming process in the plant. The QMUL students found the tour fascinating and were particularly pleased with how open the company were to all our questions on their products and working in industry. We would very much like to thank Leena and her whole team for being so generous with their time to host the tours.
