From Amazon Alexa's Voice AI to Healthcare: Navigating a Career as an AI/Data Scientist in the Fast-Changing World

Dr. George Leung is the Lead of the AI and Machine Learning Team at Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare and pharmaceutical company in chronic diseases including diabetes, obesity, and rare blood and endocrine conditions.

Dr. Leung has a PhD in physics from Emory University in the US and previously worked for Amazon as a machine learning and data scientist. He is an expert in developing and maintaining machine learning algorithms and has a special interest in human language technologies like those used in Amazon Alexa's voice AI.

At his talk, Dr. Leung will share his journey from being a physicist to working in the fast-growing field of data science and AI, and then in the pharmaceutical industry. He will reflect on his experiences and offer insights into the future of AI and machine learning in healthcare.
