Ansys gifts School of Engineering and Materials Science $10,000 for teaching support
18 November 2025

Ansys Inc., part of Synopsys, has generously gifted $10,000 to the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary. This funding supports a curriculum enhancement proposal led by Dr Salim Mohamed Salim, to integrate Ansys simulation tools into teaching and learning.
The sponsorship will accelerate the development of new curriculum content, laboratory activities, challenges, and exercises using Ansys software. It will also enable teaching staff to source the resources required to create, evaluate, and test these materials.
Ansys is globally recognised as a leader in engineering simulation software, particularly in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA). Its tools are widely regarded as robust, reliable, and highly accurate. Companies across aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, and consumer goods, including Oracle Redbull Racing, SpaceX, GE Aerospace, BMW, Ford, Rolls-Royce, Procter & Gamble, Caterpillar, and ExxonMobil, rely on Ansys to optimise product design and performance.
The Queen Mary project will be delivered by a team of academics including Dr Mouna Chetehouna, Dr Saqib Jivani, Dr Yousef Zawahreh, Dr Hicham Adjali, and Dr Sanaa Hafeez.
Ansys will act as a partner throughout, offering guidance and reviewing best practice as needed.
