Dr Rehan Shah has been recognised for his contributions to mentoring and reviewing applications by QMUL colleagues applying for HE Fellowship teaching qualifications through Queen Mary Academy's Teaching Recognition Programme (TRP).

Having recently achieved Senior Fellowship (SFHEA) himself through Queen Mary's Teaching Recognition programme, he was delighted to be assigned to mentor applicants (from Associate Fellowship through to Senior Fellowship level), which gave him the opportunity to share the experiences, insights and best practices he had gained along his own journey through to SFHEA with other colleagues.

Through dedicated discussions and feedback on his mentees’ draft application, he was able to support them to frame their teaching reflections and experiences within a broader teaching philosophy and pedagogical context to align with the newly revamped framework of the UK PSF values. In his reflection showcased as a headline on the TRP website, he noted how "even though my mentees often came from very different disciplinary backgrounds, it was truly rewarding for me to enable them to reflect on their rationale for adopting innovative teaching methods."

As part of his ongoing contributions to mentoring and reviewing applications made by colleagues at QMUL for Fellowship qualifications, he was awarded a Bronze Certificate through Queen Mary Academy, which has motivated him to continue to engage in these activities to benefit as many colleagues as possible.
