SEMS to take part in Women in STEM Scholarship programme by British Council
15 January 2025
Queen Mary will this year take part in the Women in STEM studentship programme run by the British Council. The award is worth £180,000 and will provide funding for 5 female students to travel to the UK to complete a one-year MSc (including student fees and a living allowance). The studentships are open to any female applicant from Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore and The Philippines.
These studentships are aimed at women who would not otherwise be able to fund their studies in the UK and can have a transformative effect on their careers. The Women in STEM programme aims to boost global female participation in sciences and technology, as well as improving diversity within the fields of medical science and sustainability.
Within SEMS, students will be able to apply to join the following programmes
Sustainable Engineering MSc
Biomedical Engineering MSc
Biomedical Engineering (conversion) MSc
We are extremely pleased that SEMS has been accepted to take part in this programme, and we encourage anyone who knows any potential students within Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore and The Philippines to pass on information about the opportunity.
