The research group enjoyed the excellent BioMedEng conference in Swansea and contributed lots of great talks on our organ-chip work here at Queen Mary and the Centre for Predictive in vitro Models.

Dr Tim Hopkins presented his research on the development of both a vascularised synovium organ-chip and a growth-plate organ-chip - projects funded by the NC3Rs, BBSRC and Versus Arthritis.

Dariel Terrazas presented his PhD research on the indfluence of synoviocytes on regulation of cartilage inflammation and degradation.

Other presentation included Dr Stefaan Verbruggen on the work with Dr Joanne Nolan funded by CRUK and EPSRC investigating the interaction between osteocytes and breast cancer cells and the role of primary cilia and our development of a breast cancer bone metastasis organ-chip. And Dr Simon Grossemy presented on the tendon organ-chip work led by Prof Hazel Screen
