Steve Mould, the famous science communicator and YouTuber, has just produced a new video on the physics behind the shape of the urine stream. Steve explains that there is very little published literature on this phenomenum but he describes one key paper ...

... In 2012 Prof Knight and colleagues published a paper entitled 'The Shape of the Urine Stream — From Biophysics to Diagnostics'. The paper describes the fluid mechanics behind this characteristic shape and explores whether this could be used as a simple method to measure urine flow rate to aid diagnostic of certain urological conditions.

Many of Steve Mould's other YouTube videos get over a million views. Will this one on the shape of the urine stream also go viral?
