Joshua Langfield, a PhD student working with Dr Kshitij Sabnis, has been awarded the Eric Beverley Scholarship by the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers.

The scholarship will enhance Joshua's research experience during his experimental PhD on high-speed vortex dynamics. He will use the scholarship to present his work at the AIAA Scitech Forum 2026 - the leading international conference for aerodynamics researchers - and to attend a training course held alongside the conference.

The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers provides a supportive platform for professionals, researchers and students in the automotive and aerospace industry as well as coachmaking and the armed forces.

Joshua received the award at the ceremony on Thursday 13th November at the historic Barber-Surgeons’ Hall in London. Freeman Patryk Nelkowski wrote that “the evening showcased the dedication, ambition and diversity of young engineers pursuing careers in aerospace.”
