On 14th November, Dr Jae-Hwan Park chaired a high-level virtual meeting with senior representatives from the National Information Society Agency of Korea (NIA Korea), the Digital Government Project Management Office of Korea, and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was convened to advance ongoing discussions on cross-border digital data cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan.

During the session, Dr Park facilitated detailed discussions on the technical requirements, institutional arrangements, and governance mechanisms needed to develop a secure, interoperable, and operational digital data framework. The meeting also explored opportunities for collaborative digital transformation, including data-sharing readiness, regulatory alignment, and capacity-building needs within Uzbekistan’s digital government ecosystem.

This engagement forms a key component of Dr Park’s wider international research programme on cross-border data governance and digital frameworks in Central Asia.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to coordinate next steps and continue joint development. Additional updates will be provided as the collaboration progresses.

This meeting strengthens emerging digital cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan and highlights Dr Park’s role in shaping regional data governance at an international level.
