On Tuesday 15th October, The Centre for Research in Engineering and Materials Education at Queen Mary's School of Engineering and Materials Science hosted an inspiring seminar by Professor Anne Nortcliffe of Wrexham University, who presented the Inclusive Employability Toolkit for Engineering Students—a powerful initiative designed to address equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) disparities in the engineering employment pipeline.

Previously known as the EDGE Toolkit, the initiative is a collaboration between Canterbury Christ Church University, Wrexham University, Equal Engineers, and The Royal Academy of Engineering. Now relaunched and rebranded in partnership with the Engineering Professors’ Council, the toolkit aims to ensure broader accessibility and improved usability.

Tailored for students, educators, and academic institutions, the toolkit provides practical guidance for embedding inclusive practices into employability development across engineering, computing, design, and technology. With a focus on authentic voices and diverse representation, the toolkit encourages engineering communities to foster inclusive environments where all individuals can thrive.
