We are delighted to announce that Dr Wei Tan has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IoM3).

This prestigious recognition celebrates Dr Tan’s outstanding contributions to materials science and engineering, with particular emphasis on multifunctional composites, computational and data-driven engineering of materials. It acknowledges his significant advances in the mechanics of materials, as well as his leadership and contribution within both the academic and professional communities, including IOM3 and UKACM.

Dr Tan’s fellowship application was supported by two FIMMs at SEMS, Prof Liz Tanner and Prof James Busfield.
