Dr Deepshikha presented the poster for EduMark AI, an innovative project funded by the Drapers' Fund for Innovation in Learning and Teaching by Queen Mary University of London, at Festival of Education, Queen Mary University of London.

Developed in collaboration with Dr Li Wang, Dr Xinru Deng, Dr Giuseppe Viola and supported by Prof Conrad Bessant, Dr Darryn Mitussis and Dr Mouna Chetehouna. EduMark AI aims to transform the way educators mark and provide feedback on student work. EduMark AI app development is supported by Hashir Hamid, a student in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS).

The project introduces an AI-powered web-based application that:

  • Integrate large language models (LLMs) into the assessment workflow
  • Reduce educator marking time by up to 60–70%
  • Deliver consistent, rubric-aligned, and personalised feedback for students
  • Improve student experience and assessment literacy

During the poster presentation, Dr Deepshikha also unveiled the beta version of the EduMark AI App (https://edumark-ai.com), which is now undergoing initial testing with select educators. The app integrates large language models to deliver automated evaluations while preserving academic rigour and ensuring consistency across assessments.

This timely innovation addresses the growing demand for scalable, fair, and feedback-rich assessment processes in higher education. The EduMark AI team is now preparing for wider rollout and institutional integration in the near future.

“EduMark AI is designed not to replace educators, but to empower them—streamlining repetitive grading tasks while enhancing the quality and consistency of student feedback,” said Dr Deepshikha.
