PhD student Joshua Daoud has been awarded a £400 grant from the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining.
The 'Grant to Support Knowledge Exchange' will enable him to attend the upcoming Microphysiological Systems World Summit in Brussels where he will present his research - working on the development of an on-chip system to direct glioblastoma outgrowth into healthy neural tissue.
Joshua is a 1st year PhD student under the supervision of Dr Christopher Chapman in the CARClab. He is working on the development of a complex system for simulating and monitoring glioblastoma (brain cancer) recurrence.
