As part of the Business Strategy and Technology Entrepreneurship module in the Engineering Management MSc programme, Dr Jae-Hwan Park arranged an expert session with Scott Emery, focusing on the UK government’s structure and its role in shaping business policies.

Scott Emery is a Councillor for Highgate and Chief whip for Haringey Liberal Democrats, as well as a spokesperson for the environment and transport.

He provided a deep dive into:

• The key institutions of the UK government and their influence on industry
• How policies affect business, technology, and entrepreneurship
• The regulatory landscape and business incentives for innovation

The discussion highlighted how businesses interact with government policies, navigate regulations, and leverage policy-driven opportunities for growth.

By organising this session, Jae-Hwan ensured that students gained a real-world understanding of how government decisions impact business strategy and technological innovation.
