On Tuesday, 17th December, Engineering Management MSc students, accompanied by their programme director, Dr Jae-Hwan Park, visited Hitachi Rail Depot in Beckton for an engaging and insightful experience.

The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to explore Hitachi Rail's advanced communication and signaling systems. Through a series of interactive workshops, they gained invaluable insights into modern rail communication technologies and explored the company’s latest R&D (research and development) feasibility studies, which are at the forefront of innovation in the rail industry.

The day concluded with a career-focused session, where students learned about the recruitment process and potential job opportunities within Hitachi Rail. This hands-on experience not only enhanced their technical knowledge but also provided a window into exciting career prospects in the rail sector.

Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the visit as a perfect blend of learning and professional networking. Events like this highlight the MSc programme's dedication to offering real-world experiences that prepare students for impactful careers in engineering management.
