The Department of Materials is very sad to announce the death of Dr Norbert Cabrera in a car accident on Saturday 24th September 2005. Norbert was a PhD student with Ton Peijs and his PhD was on "Recyclable all polypropylene composites: concept, properties and manufacturing". Earlier this month we were delighted to announce that he was awarded the Dow Energy Dissertation Awards 2005 for his PhD work. In June 2004 Norbert married Dr Saba Abdulghani who had been both an undergraduate and PhD student in the Department. We send our deep sympathises to Saba and the rest of Norbert's family and their friends here in QMUL and around the world.
