The IOM3 has reviewed a wide range of taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the materials degree streams during a two day visit this week. The panel reported a very positive response to the educational experience enjoyed by our taught students. They highly commended our extensive use of Problem Based Learning, the use of innovative outreach activities, the strong and effective links with industry through industrially led projects and guest lectures in taught programmes, the significant ongoing investment into our world class laboratory facilities, our organisation of laboratory classes and the effectiveness of our student support. It is anticipated that an official accreditation notification will follow in due course - once all the formal processes have been completed.
