Lakis Kaounides, the new Director for the Management of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship has joined the Department.
Lakis has been appointed to provide leadership in the Department's expanding activities in the field of Technology Management. This goes beyond our new MBA/MSc programmes in Technology Exploitation and Management and includes research into Science Policy, Industrial Strategy and Economics relating to exciting new areas for the materials industry such as Nanotechnology, Fuel Cells and Bioengineering.

Lakis has formerly spend most of his career in conventional business schools, preaching about the value of technology and the need to develop technology strategies for government and industry that recognise the particular characteristics of businesses based on science and engineering. He pioneered and ran the former MBA in Technology Management at the CASS Business School and was also a former Director of the Science Entrepreneurship MSc run for CASS by Simfonec.
Lakis brings his vision and enthusiasm to the department and this, coupled with a little culture shock, should make life around the campus even more interesting than normal!
