A China link that has been funded by a grant awarded by the EU is now up and running. The project aims to secure stonger research collaboration between four top research groups at QMUL, Eindhoven University in Holland and at Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. So far staff from both QMUL (Ton Peijs, James Busfield and Ray Smith) as well as staff from Eindhoven have gone to deliver advanced courses on polymer morphology, elastomer materials and polymers used in medical applications to a specially selected class of masters level students. The lecture programme continues for the rest of this academic year with several other colleagues due to deliver lectures. Next year the best students from both Chinese partners will be funded to travel to Europe to work in the research laboratories here. James Busfield said that, 'It is a great pleasure to teach these classes in China as all the students are very highly motivated and very dedicated to their studies. We look forward to welcoming the best in Europe next year.'
