Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal was guest of honour at the formal opening of the new international headquarters of ApaTech. The company was spun out of the Department of Materials in 2001 and our own Karin Hing is one of the founding scientists. Princess Anne was given a guided tour of the Company’s facilities and met members of staff of the Company from around the world. Her Royal Highness was especially interested in Actifuse® the synthetic bone graft substitute which ApaTech produces in Elstree and met a number of leading surgeons who undertake the life-restoring surgery that utilises Actifuse.
