Travelling and attending AFPM 2026
Travel to London for AFPM 2026 is straightforward thanks to the city’s extensive international connections. London is served by six major airports—Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City, and Southend—offering direct flights from most global hubs. Heathrow and Gatwick provide the widest range of long?haul options, while London City Airport is particularly convenient for European travellers. Each airport is linked to central London by express trains, standard rail services, coaches, and taxis, making onward travel simple regardless of your arrival point.
Once in London, navigating the city is easy using the public transport network of Underground (Tube), trains, buses, and the Elizabeth line. Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is located in the Mile End area of East London and is well connected to major transport routes. The closest Underground stations are Mile End (Central, District, and Hammersmith & City lines) and Stepney Green (District and Hammersmith & City lines), both a short walk from campus. Travellers arriving via the Eurostar at London St Pancras International can reach QMUL in around 25 minutes by Tube.

For those arriving from Heathrow, the Elizabeth line offers a direct route into central London, where you can easily transfer to the Tube for Mile End. Alternatively, the Piccadilly line connects Heathrow to the Underground network. From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express and Thameslink services run frequently to central London stations with convenient onward connections. Stansted and Luton airports are served by dedicated rail links to Liverpool Street and St Pancras respectively, both of which provide quick access to QMUL via the Hammersmith & City or District lines.
If you prefer to travel within London by taxi or rideshare, these are widely available, though public transport is often the fastest option during peak hours. Cycling is also popular in East London, and Santander Cycles docking stations are located near the QMUL campus. However you choose to travel, reaching the AFPM 2026 venue is efficient and well supported by London’s transport infrastructure, ensuring a smooth start to your conference experience.
