Bone Research Society Annual Meeting 2026 Hosted by Queen Mary University of London
We are delighted to announce that Queen Mary University of London will host the Bone Research Society (BRS) Annual Meeting 2026 from 8–10 July 2026 on the Mile End campus in London. For the first time in almost twenty years, the BRS Annual Meeting returns to the capital, bringing together researchers, clinicians, engineers, healthcare professionals, industry partners and early career investigators from across the UK and around the world to explore the latest advances in bone and musculoskeletal research.
The three-day meeting will feature internationally recognised speakers, scientific symposia, poster presentations, submitted oral communications, industry satellite sessions, workshops, and a dedicated Early Career Researcher networking event. The programme spans fundamental, translational and clinical research, highlighting emerging technologies, novel therapies, and multidisciplinary approaches that are transforming our understanding of skeletal health and disease.
Conference Themes
The programme will explore cutting-edge developments in:
- Osteoporosis management and fracture prevention
- Rare bone diseases and metabolic bone disorders
- Cellular crosstalk in bone and cartilage disease
- Osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal ageing
- Primary bone cancers and tumour biology
- Multi-modal imaging, spatial omics and computational analysis
- Bone mechanobiology and skeletal adaptation
- Novel in vitro models, organoids and organ-on-a-chip systems
- Bone regeneration, biomaterials and tissue engineering
- Evolutionary, palaeobiological and comparative bone research
Clinical & Scientific Programme
The meeting programme will showcase the latest advances in:
- Osteoclast biology and osteoporosis therapeutics
- Clinical management of rare skeletal disorders including hypophosphatasia and XLH
- Mechanisms underpinning osteoarthritis and cartilage degeneration
- Immunotherapy and chemoresistance in primary bone cancers
- Spatial multi-omics and AI-enabled analysis of skeletal tissues
- High-resolution imaging and bone microarchitecture assessment
- Bone marrow biology and musculoskeletal disease mechanisms
- Advanced 3D in vitro models for bone research and drug discovery
- Regenerative medicine, biomaterials and fracture repair
- Translational approaches linking fundamental discoveries to patient care
Delegates will have extensive opportunities to engage with leading experts, present their work, develop new collaborations and participate in workshops at the Queen Mary NanoVision Centre and Centre for Predictive In Vitro Models. Hosted immediately following the XVIIth Congress of the International Society of Bone Morphometry (ISBM 2026), the meeting will provide an exceptional opportunity for the international bone research community to gather in London for an extended week of scientific exchange, networking and collaboration.
