With the dedication and support from various people in the department, we have just completed a very successful series of Taster Courses and Summer Schools this year. All these events were attended by about 800 different students between the 12th June and 18th July 2005. These events are Materials in Medicine, Materials in Dentistry, Seeing into the Future, Materials with Forensic, IOMMM + RSC Teachers day, Year 8 Redbridge Science Challenge, Year 12 Health Summer Schools, Year 11 and Year 10 Summer Schools. The events were co-organised by Caroline Jee and Kirsty Johnston and were championed by Liz Tanner, Andy Busby, Asa Barber and James Busfield. The feedback from all the students is very positive and we hope to see a good number return to enrol at QM in the future. A BIG thank you everyone who has supported and made these events successful, especially Mick, Zofia, Rory, Monisha, Tara, Teaching Assistant Team and the Summer School Assistant Team.
