Ms Weina Yang, a PhD student in the Centre for Clean Energy / Dept. of Materials, successfully won a UK/US Hydrogen Technology Scholarship from the EPSRC, under the UK-US collaborative agreement on hydrogen energy research. Weina is one of the five candidates in the UK to be awarded such a prestigious scholarship, due to her excellent research in Mg-based hydride for hydrogen storage under the supervision of Prof. Z. Xiao Guo. She will spend a year in Sandia National Laboratory in California, and resume her PhD research afterwards.
