On Wednesday 11 February, Engineering Management MSc student Vikram Kuppe Shashidhar attended Balfour Beatty's open day to gain some insights into working at the UK's largest construction and infrastructure company. Here, he shares his main take-aways from the day:

"At the event I got to interact and network with recent graduate employees, senior managers and aspiring students from different universities. I gained an understanding of the work culture at Balfour Beatty and their various ventures.

The employees were very friendly and invited me to have lunch with them.

At a mock interview with a senior manager, I received constructive feedback and answers to my questions. I also had my CV reviewed by a senior manager and got input on how it could be improved.

I visited the Balfour Beatty site and their maintenance plant and got to look at their operations on the field. My favourite part of the day was getting to see the Eurostar!

Overall, Balfour Beatty's commitment to teamwork, sustainability, innovation and empowerment really fascinates me and I would be interested to join an organisation like this in the future, working alongside people like Serah Opadeji, Timna Levinson and many more!"
