The Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE) chose Queen Mary's Octagon to host their first ever Graduate Roadshow on Friday 10th October.

Throughout the afternoon, students from across the UK attended to take part in CV clinics, mock interviews, and an interview skills workshop, as well as meeting employed graduates who spoke as part of a panel discussion.

They were also able to network with representatives from fifteen companies, including Mercedes Formula One, Red Bull, Aston Martin, RS, Balfour Beatty and BP.

The AFBE is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in engineering and technology. They support students and professionals from ethnic minority backgrounds to excel and thrive in engineering careers, where they are typically underrepresented. AFBE's co-founder, Dr Nike Folayan, has just started a position as Visiting Professor at the School of Engineering and Materials Science.
