The school of Engineering and Materials Science is celebrating positive results in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).

The survey results showed many impressive outcomes including:

• Queen Mary is 3rd in the UK for Engineering and Technology – out of 42 universities
• Engineering is the second best performing subject area in the university
• Queen Mary is the second best performing university for Engineering in the Russell Group.
• Engineering at Queen Mary is 10% above the overall benchmark from all 42 universities and is the secon best performing subject area for the university in this regard.
• 100% of students responded positively that the course is intellectually stimulating, has enhanced their academic ability and challenged them to produce their best work.
• 100% of students say they have developed their skills as an independent learner, and that their research skills have developed during their course.
• 100% of students say health and wellbeing support meets their needs and that there are appropriate online library resources.
• 95% of students responded positively about their skills development from their programme.
• 100% of students agree that they have opportunities to give feedback.
• 100% of students also understand what is expected of them for their major project.
