Under the auspice of Department of Trade and Industry (UK) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (China), a “China-UK Symposium on Advanced Materials” was held in Chong-Qing, between 4-8 December 2005, organised by British Consulate-General Chongqing (BCG Chongqing) and Chongqing Science and Technology Commission (CSTC). Professor Guo co-ordinated the UK participation of the event, along with Prof. Pan, Deputy Head of CSTC. Professor Guo gave a talk on “Light Metals for Clean Energy Applications”.
