SEMS PhD Student Madsar Hameed from Prof Joe Briscoe's group presented their research at the prestigious Materials Research Society Fall 2024 Conference in Boston, Massachusetts. Recognized as the premier international forum in the field of advanced materials, the conference provided an incredible platform to showcase cutting-edge innovations.

Madsar shared their research on aerosol-assisted treatments for perovskite films, a promising approach to enhancing the morphology, reducing defects, and improving the stability of these materials for energy applications. A key highlight of the work was the use of in-situ photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy to monitor real-time improvements in optoelectronic properties during perovskite crystallization. These insights pave the way for scalable, high-performance solar cells and optoelectronic devices.

The conference also served as an excellent opportunity to explore advancements in photovoltaics, particularly in perovskite solar cells and other advanced materials. Engaging with leading scientists and innovators, the student exchanged ideas and delved into the latest trends shaping materials science. Such interactions continue to inspire progress toward sustainable energy technologies.

Madsar said "It was an excellent conference and a great opportunity to learn more about the latest research and supporting technology in this field and to present some of the exciting work being done at Queen Mary."
