On Friday 26th July, the Industrial Engagement team took a large group of Engineering and Materials Science students to Farnborough Air Show’s Pioneers of Tomorrow day.

Every two years, the aerospace, aviation and defence industries are invited to Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre for the world’s best airshow. The Pioneers of Tomorrow event was a dedicated STEM-focused event designed to inspire and engage the next generation of aerospace leaders.

The event provided the students with the opportunity to meet engineers working in industry, potential future employers as well as thought leaders and those pioneering change in the aerospace industry.

The event included a flying display showcasing the most advanced aircraft flying in the skies today, with live commentary highlighting the features of each aircraft.

The students also got to see aircraft on the ground and speak to the engineers and pilots.

Students also met Professor Andy Bushby, who was representing his spin out company, Ultimo Forma.
