With the dedication and support from various people in the department, we have just completed a very successful series of Taster Courses. These taster courses were attended by about 400 different students between the 21st June and 7th July 2005. The events were organised by Caroline Jee and Cath Pedley and were championed by Liz Tanner (Materials in Medicine), Andy Busby (Materials in Dentistry) and James Busfield (Materials with Forensics). In addition, Farah Safir also helped us to organised college summer schools for about 300 students which were equally successful. The theme of the college summer schools are based on Health and Medicine. The feedback from all the students is very positive and we hope to see a good number return to enrol at QM in the future.
