Abu Bakar Dawood has successfully defended his PhD thesis, entitled "Soft Capacitive and Optical Tomography-based Sensor Skins"

Dawood was supported by a studentship from the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. He was supervised by Prof Kaspar Althoefer and Dr Ketao Zhang. Throughout his PhD, Dawood has demonstrated several innovative capacitive and optics-based sensing approaches, which have advanced the field of tactile sensors that are suitable for integration with robotic hands.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the two examiners, Prof Adam Stokes (Edinburgh) and Dr Lei Su (QMUL), for their excellent work in evaluating Dawood's thesis. Their insightful feedback was invaluable.
