1st year undergraduates of the Department of Materials, QMUL have just completed their last Problem Based Learning activity championed by Dr James Busfield and Dr Caroline Jee. The theme of this PBL case study was "Materials with Forensics". A murder crime scene was set up with the help of Anthony Larkin (from Metropolitan Police) for the students to investigate. The students have hands-on experience of crime scene investigation, evidence examination, collection to evidence analysis and presentation. This year we had Professor Julian Evans as our prosecuting barrister, Dr. James Busfield as our defending barrister and Dr. Caroline Jee as the presiding judge. This activity has provided valuable experience for the students and has been tremendous fun for both students and teaching staff.
