Queen Mary University of London ranked in the top 125 institutions for engineering and technology subjects in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings

3 December 2018

Queen Mary has climbed from the top 150 institutions for engineering and technology subjects into the top 125 according to this year's Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The THE World University Rankings is the definitive list of the top universities globally, which includes more than 1,250 institutions across 86 countries in 2019. The rankings are calculated using the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual subjects.

Professor Tony Michael, Dean of Education for the Faculty of Science & Engineering congratulated staff in the School of Engineering and Materials Sciences (SEMS) and the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS).

“Colleagues in EECS and in SEMS have worked hard over the past few years to make real improvements to the student experience and taught programmes offered by the two Schools, so it is wonderful to see these team efforts reflected for 2019 in the rise up the THE listing of universities for Engineering at QMUL. We look forward to working with the Schools to achieve further improvements that provide even better indicators of the quality of education and research undertaken in EECS and in SEMS. Sincere appreciation and congratulations to all who've contributed to this improvement in our national and international standing.”
