Paul Hogg has been appointed as a Guest Professor of the Department of Materials at Beihang University in China. The appointment was confirmed at a ceremony in Beijing during Paul's recent trip to China.
During the visit to Beihang, Paul was also able to confirm the appointment of Professor Huibin Xu, former Head of Department of Materials at Beihang and now a Vice President of the university as a visiting Professor to the Department of Materials at Queen Mary.
If that wasnt enough, Paul also had the pleasure of guesting at the PhD defence of Jiwei Cheng, a former academic visitor to the department who has been a great help to both universities in forging strong links in research and teaching. It is a pleasure to report that Jiwei passed his defence successfully with the committee giving him a unanimous rating of "Excellent"for his work.
