Well done to Paula Ruiz and Tomas Lukas, who both passed their PhD vivas in recent weeks.

Paula and Tomas have both worked as Teaching Assistants at SEMS with Paula returning for a second year to work as a Senior Teaching Assistant, much to the relief of many academic staff! Tomas recently excelled in his temporary roll at the SEMS front desk and he and his sense of humour will be missed by all in the office.

Paula's PhD was entitled "Performance Characteristics of Centrifugal Impeller for Heart Therapy: Numerial and In-vitro Approach" whilst Tomas's was entitled "Development of Parallelisation Solutions for the Combined Finite-Discrete Element Method".

Well done once again to two much appreciated individuals who have contributed greatly to SEMS throughout their PhD studies.
