We are pleased to announce that a Materials alumnus has received recognition in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2013. Professor Neil McNeill Alford graduated in 1980 with a PhD in Geomaterials. Professor Alford is currently Head, Department of Materials, and Vice-Dean (research), Faculty of Engineering, Imperial College London and has been awarded an MBE for services to engineering.
