Enrolment Hits Triple Record

21 October 2003

Enrolment to the department has hit an all time high in all three areas - undergraduates, taught post graduates and research post graduates students.

Preliminary figures have shown that the department has already reached a total of 252 undergraduates across all four years of the BEng/MEng programmes, accompanied by 59 taught post graduates and 60 research students. A record total in each case! The total number of students in the department is now 371 compared to last year's figure (itself a record) of 305 and 179 in 2001. Students are still enrolling so the numbers are likely to climb a little higher.

This dramatic increase in student numbers have been achieved alongside an INCREASE in the average undergraduate entry A-level points while at the same time the department has maintained the second highest level of progression from the first to second year of undergraduate study in the science and engineering sector at Queen Mary.
