Congratulations to Ashand Namasivayam, who successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "Combustion, Performance and Emissions Characteristics of Compression-Ignition Engines Fuelled by Sustainable Fuels". His work involved investigation of engine performance and emissions of compression-ignition engines fuelled by various combinations of sustainable and renewable fuels, fuel emulsions, and hydrogen, in single and dual fueling modes. He was supervised by Professor T. Alexander (publishes as T. Korakianitis) and Professor Roy Crookes. During his four-year PhD studies Ashand contributed as lead author or co-author to the publication of four journal articles, one more is still under review (Fuel), one more in preparation (Applied Energy), and four conference papers. The experimental and numerical investigations are continuing via S. Imran, B. Ihrackska and A. Diez.
